Petra Haden / Toyota Prius Commercial
Posted May 25th, 2009 by GrahamI’ve been seeing this new Toyota Prius commercial on and off for the past couple of days, and I must say it blows me away every time I see it, but what got my attention the most was the music playing behind it. After some research I found out that the artist behind the song is Petra Haden an “all acapella” artist who has (lately) done a few great acapella covers of hit songs. A quick google/youtube search also produces some pretty awesome examples of her incredibly talented work!

Update: The Song used in the “Harmony” commercial is a Petra Haden cover of The Bellamy Brothers’ “Let Your Love Flow”

It’s a cover of a song from the Bellamy Brothers called “Let Your Love Flow” I haven’t been able to find Petra Haden’s version of it yet. But it’s a great song!

It’s the MySpace Tuesday free mp3 http://music.myspace.com/ but the quality is not good. Mixing seems to have left the main voice in the background.

I just heard it and said to my daughter, “Is that Petra Haden?” I guess it must be! (you are very high up in the petra haden prius Google search results!)

It might not be easy to get a full version of the petra haden song since it is a remake of the bellamy brothers song. they would have to grant her rights to publish her version. as i see it, you cant even add teh song to your player on myspace, so, if the bellamy brothers wont let ya borrow it its hard to say when of if we will ever get a full petra haden version. i will be waiting though….

Is it possible to obtain the Mp3 of just the short music from the Prius solar commercial .
It is the spot with the desert oasis.
